A Typical Day
A Typical Day
Morning
In March at La Flor the sun comes up at around 5am, and it is my favorite time of day. The light is soft, nature awakens, the birds start singing, and you know it is going to be a great day. Even if you are not usually a morning person, like me, by 6am you are ready to get out of bed and itching to stretch. That's just what the morning yoga class is about: (60min)
- Gently waking up the body and mind.
- Preparing the muscles for your morning job.
- Stretching.
- Breathing, setting a pace for your day.
Sample Morning Schedule
- 6:00-7:00:Yoga
- 7:00-7:30: breakfast
- 7:30-10:00: volunteering
- 10:00-10:30: break, snack, "fresco".
- 10:30-12:00: back to work.
- 12:00: lunch
Afternoon
Around 4pm you will have rested, read, gone for a walk, chatted - in English and Spanish - , written in your journal, had a nap, and had something yummy and energizing for a snack. Then, you will be ready for a more vigorous practice (75mn + short meditation):
- Stretches and warm up.
- Vinyasa flow, including twists, standing balance postures - such as the appropriate "Bird of Paradise" - , arm balances, inversions, you name it!
- Relaxation and meditation in Savasana.
Sample Afternoon Schedule
- 1:00-4:00: free time (one hour Spanish class)
- 4:00-5:30:Yoga
- 6:00: dinner

"I'll admit I was a little apprehensive about doing yoga twice a day for the entire week, but it was truly an amazing setting for yoga. Plus, Frederique's classes were the perfect combination of being well-planned, challenging, and playful!" - Laurie

"I was amazed at how easily my body took to yoga twice a day. I wasn't sore at all and popped right out of bed every morning at 6:30 to get to the studio." - Morgen
